Luis Adan

Luis Adan, Senior Development Manager for Vulcan Real Estate, is responsible for over a million square feet of commercial office development for Vulcan in the City of Bellevue. Luis is a graduate of the University of Philippines with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, he then completed the course work towards a Masters in Structural Engineering from the same University. He immigrated to the United States and has since been active in both the Los Angeles and Seattle real estate markets with involvement in over 8 million sf of public and commercial real estate including commercial office buildings, condominiums, luxury multi-family apartment buildings, schools and libraries. Luis is passionate about developing buildings that add value to the people that use them, that is the motivation behind his desire to introduce smart building concepts to buildings he develops.
Robb Andrade

Robb Andrade is the General Manager for the Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s division in WA, ID and MT. Robb oversees the sales, installation and services for Fire and Life Safety systems, Security, Building Automation, Electrical Services, Digital Services and IoT Solutions for Smart Buildings. Robb began his technology career with the US Navy and has worked for Siemens in two different capacities and two different times since 1999. He has run the Siemens technology portfolio from its divisional global HQ in Zug, Switzerland; he globalized a Swiss-German start-up in the FinTech industry and he co-founded a green building start-up in Washington and Oregon. Robb is President of the Board of the Smart Building Center, a member of the West Sound STEM Network Leadership and is invested in connecting industry to education across the entire state of Washington.
Ash Awad, P.E.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Ash is the Chief Market Officer at McKinstry. He is responsible for their market development strategy and provides leadership for the sales and business development efforts of all lines of business. His extensive knowledge in the industry includes systems engineering, evaluation of sustainable ideas, development of alternative-financing solutions, and optimizing and securing utility incentives and grants.
Perry England

Perry England is Vice President of Building Performance at MacDonald Miller Facility Solutions where he focuses on helping commercial building owners identify and implement energy efficiency investments which pay for themselves through guaranteed operational savings. These investments save energy and water, support sustainability objectives, improve comfort in the built environment and create high-skilled, family-wage jobs. He is a passionate leader for our state’s environment and for the right of every individual to find a meaningful path to economic security. He currently serves as President of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council and as the Chair of Washington’s Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board. Perry is also an active contributor and member of the Smart Buildings Center Board of Directors.
Chris Roe

Chris leads Energy and Sustainable Operations for Amazon’s global building operations and is responsible for the strategy and execution against the company’s 100% renewable energy and zero carbon goals. Prior to Amazon, Chris led energy, water, and waste initiatives within the Boeing’s Real Estate organization in support of Boeing’s corporate environmental goals. Chris has a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Cambridge University, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington.
Spyros Sakellariadis

Spyros has over 30 years’ experience in IT, and has worked for Microsoft since 2003. He is currently working on creating and delivering Smart Building and Smart City solutions, with a primary focus on infrastructure, energy management, sustainability, and workplace safety scenarios. He works with the Microsoft engineering teams on new product ideas, consults with Microsoft’s Real Estate and Facilities group on implementing these the products internally, and assists customers with their deployments.
Cal Shirley

Cal Shirley is the former Vice President of Customer Solutions for Puget Sound energy (PSE). He is business executive with over 35 years of experience in senior executive leadership roles in both public organizations and private companies. Cal’s background covers a wide array of responsibilities. Some of those include customer based renewable energy; energy efficiency, new product development, utility customer operations, marketing/sales and construction and land use. Subsequent to his retirement from PSE, he currently serves as a consultant to organizations on a wide variety of subjects, including land use, sustainable planning, corporate branding and succession planning through developing culturally competent leaders in the public and private sectors. He has been the recipient of several awards for his work in these areas.
Phil Welker

Phil has more than 35 years of experience in the energy industry, 25 of them with PECI. He excels in leading product development teams that pursue innovative approaches to energy resource management and providing education that results in long-term transformation of energy use practices. Phil sits on the board of directors of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council and the Seattle Smart Building Center. His experience includes the role of energy policy analyst at Northwest Power and Conservation Council and energy division chief at Idaho Department of Water and Resources. He holds a BA in economics from Boise State University.
